Bigfoot Enhanced Sense Perception – It’s In Their Hair!
How does Bigfoot avoid us so well? Possibly they’re blessed with extra perceptive powers through their hair!
This week information about a hair study done during the Vietnam War era was made public. The military sought out Native Americans with “outstanding, almost supernatural tracking skills”. These men were recruited into the service and then failed to perform as spectacularly as they did previously.
Through extensive testing the military learned they lost their extraordinary skills and senses because their long hair was cut off. More trackers were recruited, some who were allowed to keep their long hair, and others who had it cut. The long haired trackers continued to do well in all situations set up to test their tracking and reaction abilities.
“When questioned about their failure to perform as expected, the older recruits replied consistently that when they received their required military haircuts, they could no longer ‘sense’ the enemy, they could no longer access a ‘sixth sense’, their ‘intuition’ no longer was reliable, they couldn’t ‘read’ subtle signs as well or access subtle extrasensory information.
So the testing institute recruited more Indian trackers, let them keep their long hair, and tested them in multiple areas. Then they would pair two men together who had received the same scores on all the tests. They would let one man in the pair keep his hair long, and gave the other man a military haircut. Then the two men retook the tests.
Time after time the man with long hair kept making high scores. Time after time, the man with the short hair failed the tests in which he had previously scored high scores.”
Source: The Truth About Hair and Why Indians Would Keep Their Hair Long, published September 8, 2011 at Signs of the Times.
If one can trust this information it is clear that a Bigfoot, whose hair has never been cut, who has hair all over his body, is sure to have sensory perceptions that are much stronger than what we human beings possess. This accounts for their abilities to sense our presence, and to know when to hide from us. This may also be part of their reported psychic abilities including the way they can influence our own thoughts, instill fear, or cause us to freeze up.
I’d like to hear your thoughts on these ideas. Long hair – is it empowering? Is it part of our nervous system? What do you think?

Major Misquote of Me in the News!
My face is red… OMG I didn’t say that! I love the publicity but I wish it said something I’d actually said rather than something that sounds to me like a grandiose delusion.
Here’s what I’m quoted as saying: “There have been more Bigfoot sightings here than anywhere in the world,” said Linda Martin, who operates the blog bigfootsightings.org. “Happy Camp is surrounded by wilderness. It’s one of the only areas left where they can survive.” See the Article!
I personally don’t believe there are more Bigfoot sightings in the Klamath River Valley than anyplace else in the world, so I’m sure I didn’t say that. Sorry if I gave that impression, but reality is that there are probably more sightings in other areas, such as in Washington and British Columbia.
And as for the Happy Camp area being one of the only places where they can survive, I’m sure I wouldn’t say that either. There are Bigfoot sightings in many countries and 49 of the US states (not in Hawaii).
The reporter might have gotten the wrong impression because I am concerned about how Bigfoot’s world has shrunk. 150 years ago they lived in the San Francisco Bay Area and San Joaquin Valley. But now they’re shoved back into the forested mountains. As humans pave over more of the planet our forest cousins are forced to retreat.
Yes, they’re here in the Klamath-Siskiyou Mountains, but that’s not one of the only places. There are many areas all over the USA and world where they’ve been seen.
So, I’m posting this here, blushing, because I sure didn’t say what was quoted and I think the reporter may have misunderstood because of the noise level around the booth where he spoke to me. The interview was in the middle of our Bigfoot Jamboree celebration.
Being a reporter is a tough job. The man was very busy gathering information for his article, and the pressure to get these articles out quickly without fail is enormous. So I am not angry that I was misquoted, but just a little embarrassed because any Bigfoot researcher would immediately know that what I was quoted as saying is simply not true.
This just goes to show how easy it is for a reporter to get the wrong idea about what’s being said.

I’ll be at the 2011 Happy Camp, CA Bigfoot Jamboree
This year’s Happy Camp Bigfoot Jamboree will take place on Labor Day Weekend, September 2-4, 2011 at the River Park in Happy Camp. Our resident Bigfoot researcher, JavaBob Schmalzbach, will be a speaker – as will I. You can see us at 1pm on Saturday 9/3/11 at the pavilion in River Park. I have NEVER spoken at a Bigfoot event (honestly, I don’t even attend the conferences, as of yet) but since the Bigfoot Jamboree is a gathering of Happy Camp neighbors I will gather together some brave thoughts, psyche myself up, and go tell everyone why I’ve been researching Bigfoot for the last six years.

My main motivation for doing this is to let people in our area know that Bigfoot is a real phenomena, not just an awesome statue in the middle of town. I want to tell them about Bigfoot sightings in our area.
When I got here in 2000, nobody talked about sightings. In April 2001 we had a town celebration for the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the Bigfoot Scenic Byway which runs from Happy Camp to Willow Creek. At our celebration one speaker mentioned a Bigfoot sighting that had taken place about ten miles from here in the 1800s. Other than that, nobody could tell us anything about local Bigfoot sightings.
My goal, therefore, was to find out if Happy Camp has a real claim to the presence of Bigfoot, and that’s what I’ll be speaking about at the Bigfoot Jamboree. It will be an opportunity to share my findings with the people of our town.
After I’m done, I’ll turn the stage over to JavaBob, a more experienced speaker with a book to sell. I’m not sure what he has planned but I’m sure it will be of interest to anyone who has wondered about the existence of Bigfoot.
I asked Tara Hauki to speak and she declined. I get the impression she’s received some negative feedback from some of her friends and acquaintances in town, and feels a need for more privacy. We have discussed sponsoring an event more centric to the Bigfoot community at which we might get her to take part.
There may be other Bigfoot researchers in town that week that could take the stage for a bit… and if you are such a person who can be in Happy Camp that weekend, please email me – let me know. My email address is linda-at-bigfootsightings.org – you can use the contact link in the right-side column of this website.

Could Bigfoot be the Next Newly Discovered Race of Human Beings?
This video about the discovery of a hitherto unknown race of humans is an eye-opening reminder that the next big news story could be that Bigfoot is real and they are our cousins!
We are all looking forward to learning the results of Dr. Myrna Ketchum’s Bigfoot DNA project. If we learn that Bigfoot is human, we’re going to drop the “ape” description and rethink our approach to meeting with them.
If they are hiding from us because we’re a dangerous species, maybe with enactment of protection laws they’ll decide eventually to communicate more with us.
If they’re hiding because contact with us could cause them to develop new kinds of sickness, perhaps there’s a solution for that too.
I would like to think that there’s something we might be able to do to make their lives in the wilderness more comfortable. Cave furniture? Soft beds? Better food? Whatever it is, a program for getting Bigfoot out of isolation and primitive living and into better living conditions would be something to consider.
As usual, my imagination is working overtime.
What would you do for Bigfoot if you knew they were your cousins? Would you want to leave them alone and let them fend for themselves, or would you want to do something to help them?

Alberta: Bigfoot Walking on Water
I just had to use that title! …But the water was frozen, so it was actually walking on ice. I recently received this Bigfoot sighting report from Alberta, Canada. The sighting was in 1991 – about twenty years ago.
It was January 1991 and I was south of Valleyview, Alberta Canada about 10 pm with a co-worker in the woods. We were crossing a bridge in our truck, and when I looked down I saw a large, black, being marching across the frozen river. It was swinging its’ arms. I knew it wasn’t a man because of its size and color. When I told people what I saw they just laughed, but I know what I saw was Bigfoot.
To the person who sent me this report: I’m not laughing because… I believe Bigfoot exists. I admit I laughed a little, but only because you saw one walking on water (frozen) which I believe is fairly unique! Maybe not in your neck of the woods, though. Where I live, the water doesn’t freeze over.
Because many people laugh and scoff at the idea of a Bigfoot sighting, many experiencers stop telling what they saw. I find that sad and frustrating because there are a lot of people, like myself, that love to hear about Bigfoot. We want to know the habits, habitat, and actions observed during each sighting so we can learn more about our elusive, primitive cousins.
On the map, near the sighting location, there’s a lot of forested territory. There’s also the Willmore Wilderness Area, the Kakwa Provincial Park, and five other provincial parks and three national parks! It must be a beautiful area!

Facing Bigfoot with No Fear
A fearless encounter! Tim Peeler says he saw a male Bigfoot standing in his backyard and had the temerity to poke it with a stick and order it to leave, because he was concerned that the creature meant to harm his dog!
Thanks to TylerS500Lorinser for posting the video!
Tim Peeler of Cleveland County, North Carolina, has become a bit of a celebrity after calling 911 to get help with a Bigfoot prowling around his yard just over a year ago, on June 5, 2010. Now if you do the research at Google and YouTube you’ll see dozens of articles, interviews, and videos about him. If it was attention he wanted, he got plenty! And if this story is 100% factual, you have to admire him for standing up to a Bigfoot and ordering it away.
When we encounter any animal we need to make it clear who is the alpha… who will give the orders. So long as the animal knows who the boss is (you, of course) it is satisfied and can be subservient. It just wants to know the rules. If you show fear or run, then it knows you are giving up the alpha role and then it is in charge, and that could lead to your injury. The same rule applies to a Bigfoot as to an animal. If we approach a Bigfoot fearlessly it will respect us. If we whimper, step back, cower, or show any other sign of fear, it will know it has an advantage over us.
Tim’s Bigfoot was probably seeking a meal of dog meat, so Tim’s decision to protect his dog may have saved the animal’s life. In 2005 I went to an incident location at which two goats had been snatched from their chains in a small farmyard. The thick (very thick!) links of their chains had been broken, leading the owner to believe it was more likely a Bigfoot than anything else. Remains of the goats were found on a hillside nearby.
Sorry if I sound slightly distrusting of this story, but I can say I’ve reached the plateau of “once burned twice shy”. People whose Bigfoot sighting reports generate a lot of publicity tend to send up red flags for me. On the other hand, Tim Peeler seems like a genuine and friendly kind of fellow I’d like to meet.
In any case, his attitude of fearlessness toward the Bigfoot is what impressed me. He didn’t feel threatened and was able to take charge in the situation.

A Few Comments on a TCSJR Bigfoot YouTube Video
This video comes from tcsjrbigfoot on YouTube… uploaded July 4, 2011…
I’m impressed by the improvement in this YouTuber’s videography skill over the last year. We’re getting professional quality videos now.
These Ohio area researchers (Tim,Josh,Austin,Jacob and Cody) are out at night squatching while most of us are at home, resting or sleeping, so my hat is off to them for the effort they’re putting into their research activities. I don’t watch all their videos so I don’t know how often they get a hit.
This time the video shows a possible footprint discovery and possible return tree-knocks.
I was attracted to the video initially because it was titled, Communication With Bigfoot – something that’s a particular interest of mine. (See Friends of Sasquatch… a local group I’m a member of.)
One of my main concerns is that human beings are reacting to Bigfoot with fear. Not ALL humans, but most… will have a fear response. At the end of this video we see a night-time encounter with a deer. The narrator mentions that their reaction, upon hearing the noise of its approach was fright. A normal human response… especially for someone out in the dark forest late at night!
In my opinion, Bigfoot knows that if we are frightened, there is danger to them from us. Frightened humans use rifles and injure forest creatures. If there’s one thing we need to train ourselves in before seeking encounters, it is the ability to face a Bigfoot and feel friendship and compassion rather than fear and panic.
Could you do that?
